The Committee Members
Position Description – Hanford Area Economic Investment Fund Advisory Committee Member
- Is appointed by the Director of the Department of Commerce
- Regularly attends committee meetings and sub-committee meetings. Attendance is important and if you are unable to attend it is important to inform the Chair or designee of absence to be excused.
- Supports the mission of the committee.
- Stays informed about committee matters, prepares for committee meetings and reviews and comments on minutes and reports.
- Is an active participant in the committee’s planning, review and evaluation process.
- Participates as an active member in the recruitment of new committee members
- Is knowledgeable of committee financial, legal and public responsibilities. Follows the requirements of a public agency committee member and the policies of the committee. Recognizes that the committee must operate in a open and public manner and that serving the public is the top priority
- Communicates the essence of the agency to stakeholders.
- Provides governance to the organization and represents it to the community.
- Be aware of and comply with the restrictions and requirements of the laws and rules of a public committee.
Time Commitment
- Three – year term (up to two consecutive terms) – i.e. 6 years
- Monthly Committee meeting held @ 4:00 p.m. at the Ben Franklin Transit Office
- 1000 Columbia Park Way, Richland
- 4th Monday of each month.
- Sub-Committee meetings held periodically.
Requirements of Committee Nominees
- Reside or be employed within the Hanford area
- Seeking one member from the business community.

Interested nominees for the committee are to apply directly to the Washington State Department of Commerce.
