The Committee Members

Position Description – Hanford Area Economic Investment Fund Advisory Committee Member

  1. Is appointed by the Director of the Department of Commerce
  2. Regularly attends committee meetings and sub-committee meetings. Attendance is important and if you are unable to attend it is important to inform the Chair or designee of absence to be excused.
  3. Supports the mission of the committee.
  4. Stays informed about committee matters, prepares for committee meetings and reviews and comments on minutes and reports.
  5. Is an active participant in the committee’s planning, review and evaluation process.
  6. Participates as an active member in the recruitment of new committee members
  7. Is knowledgeable of committee financial, legal and public responsibilities. Follows the requirements of a public agency committee member and the policies of the committee. Recognizes that the committee must operate in a open and public manner and that serving the public is the top priority
  8. Communicates the essence of the agency to stakeholders.
  9. Provides governance to the organization and represents it to the community.
  10. Be aware of and comply with the restrictions and requirements of the laws and rules of a public committee.

Time Commitment

  • Three – year term (up to two consecutive terms) – i.e. 6 years
  • Monthly Committee meeting held @ 4:00 p.m. at the Ben Franklin Transit Office
  • 1000 Columbia Park Way, Richland
  • 4th Monday of each month.
  • Sub-Committee meetings held periodically.

Requirements of Committee Nominees

  1. Reside or be employed within the Hanford area
  2. Seeking one member from the business community.

Interested nominees for the committee are to apply directly to the Washington State Department of Commerce.
